DEAR FELIX

Do you have a question about something but don’t want anyone to know you have it?  Well, now you can ask those questions! The monthly Dear Felix column gives you the freedom to ask any questions (appropriate to the ELA audience) anonymously. Please: do NOT use anyone’s real name in your submission!  Instead of your real name, consider using a nickname that fits your situation (examples below).  A Dear Felix box for submissions is in Mrs. Hancock’s room (#325) on the bookcase by the door. 1 to 5 questions will be answered in each month.

There are many topics for questions.  Here are a few examples:
*Issues with your parents or siblings
*Issues with our school
*Drama with your friends
*Boyfriend and Girlfriend issues

Please don’t be too shy to ask a question.  Remember, if you are wondering, chances are other students are, too!

Dear Felix,
The boy that I like totally ignores me. I really want him to like me or at least be my friend! How can I get him to notice me?
--Crushing Heart

Dear Crushing,
That always is a problem with crushes. What I suggest is that you go and talk to him— NOT text—talk in person! When you make the effort to talk to him in person, he will think that you are being friendly and kind, and will want to talk with you. Good luck!

Dear Felix,
I found out that my friend was saying bad things behind my back! I really trusted him not to do that! What should I do?
--Backstabbed Friend

Dear Backstabbed,
I am very, very sorry that your friend was gossiping about you. My advice is to ask that friend NICELY (when no one is around) why he/she said those things. Hopefully, it was all a misunderstanding. If not, you should continue being polite, but you should probably find a new friend.  Good luck!
